Places in Uttarakhand You Never Knew Existed
Planning a vacation in India primarily leads us to two
places. The sandy, glistening beaches of South India immediately hits us like a
wave and the misty mountains of the North never fail to capture our awe.
However, a lot of people crave for more travelling options beyond the usual
Nainital road trips or the same lake views that one finds when they visit the
latter. This is why Uttarakhand tourism has been really active in promoting
places that have not been visited much by tourists but offer the serenity and
calmness that the people crave during a vacation.
Whether it is an escapade with your friends or that treks in Uttarakhand you have been
planning for months, the state will never disappoint you with its well kept
secrets that are finally emerging as popular travel destinations.
Mukteshwar
Nainital has a lot of places around it that are virtually
unexplored and therefore a safe haven for tourists trying to escape the bustle
of the busy town. Mukteshar is one of those places, with its 7,500 feet of glory
helping you experience the clean air you so desperately miss in cities. The
town’s biggest attraction is the fact that you can see almost a 180 degrees’
view of the Himalayan range with a few of its tallest peaks. You can also
encourage the adventurer in you by enjoying a spot of rock-climing near Chauli
ki Jali, the highest point in the town.
Munsiyari
It might be far from the nearest metropolitan city of New
Delhi, but the town of Munsiyari is every bit worth the journey that you
undertake. Called the Kashmir of Uttarakhand, Munsiyari is one of the most
popular new destinations in the state. Its panoramic view complemented with
almost no commercial disruption has made it a favorite among travel
enthusiasts. Do not miss out on the treks that can end up giving you the best
views you have ever captured on your camera!
Binsar
The small town of Binsar may look unassuming at first, but
it hides one of the biggest secrets of the state of Uttarakhand: the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Unlike a lot
of national parks or sanctuaries in India, Binsar only has the option of
trekking when it comes to exploring the sanctuary. It is a heavenly place for
people interested in ornithology, as the place houses more than 200 species of
birds with the number almost doubling during migration periods. Binsar also has
little cafes with brilliant views of mountain ranges that will make your dining
experience a memorable one.
